WSP#179 - Drink My mind  Podcast

I promised some new new songs but I've been still dealing landlord issues, cramping my recording style. So here's another Bones of the Tree outtake. Hope you've been enjoying these.

Beer in my neighborhood used to be cheap as F. You could go out with a $20 bill and drink 10 one dollar Blatz and still tip a buck a beer like a boss.

Thanks for signing up!!
I appreciate it.

Jon

WSP#178 - In the Mystery  Podcast

This is another outtake from Bones of the Tree. It probably would have been on the album but we ran out of time. The engineer, Colin Gagon was breaking down his studio to move to New Orleans so we only had one day to work on the album. I didn't think it was that great of a song but Colin really liked it so we started to add some accompaniment but I don't think we got too far. I ended up nixing it at some point after he left. Listening to it now, it's not too bad, some weak spots in the lyrics (and the performance) but the melody is pretty solid. Recorded September 14th, 2004.

WSP#177 - I Love You Mary Jane  Podcast

I have a couple of new songs I was hoping to record today but the building I live in is being painted so there was a lot of scraping and other sounds going on. I'll hit you with something brand new next week.

This week's song is an outtake from Bones of the Tree (We recorded 23 songs, only 12 made it on the album). It's a bit goofy but so is this big ol' world, aint it though?!

Speaking of goofy, let's rethink our drug laws. I've had worse chemical experiences off of coffee that I ever had on the weed. I wrote this is the early 2000s and a lot has changed. Let's legalize it already. Ya feel me??

WSP#148 - Wing Nut - Live at Circle A  Podcast

I hope everyone is having a safe and fun holiday season and I hope you had a great 2015. This year I started a new job (that I don't hate) but the highlight of my year was our CD release show for 'Getting Low' at Circle A. The crowd was warm and fun and we played ok too. This is a track from that show.

Sending out this email is the last of my Weekly Song Post duties and by the time I get to it I'm usually too tired to write too much, so I tend to keep it pretty short. I'd like to let you know that I really appreciate you tuning in every week and I thank you for signing up for this mailing list. I'd like to keep on doing this as long as I can, continuing to improve my writing, recording, editing and media presentation skills. You can fit 999 songs in an iTunes playlist so I figure that's a pretty good goal. That means 851 songs to go, which will take 17 years. I've definitely improved since I started doing this, I imagine by then this will be quite the polished and professional operation (it better be). In the meantime, thanks for sticking with me!!

In 2016 I'd like to try and do some online video concerts / live streaming so let me know if you're interested and I'll throw a performance your way. I'd also like to play some shows outside of Milwaukee, so if you'd like to host a house concert or know a bar or venue I should play at, give me a holler.

Thanks again for your time and interest!!!

Happy New Year!
