This is another outtake from Bones of the Tree. It probably would have been on the album but we ran out of time. The engineer, Colin Gagon was breaking down his studio to move to New Orleans so we only had one day to work on the album. I didn't think it was that great of a song but Colin really liked it so we started to add some accompaniment but I don't think we got too far. I ended up nixing it at some point after he left. Listening to it now, it's not too bad, some weak spots in the lyrics (and the performance) but the melody is pretty solid. Recorded September 14th, 2004.
I have a couple of new songs I was hoping to record today but the building I live in is being painted so there was a lot of scraping and other sounds going on. I'll hit you with something brand new next week.
This week's song is an outtake from Bones of the Tree (We recorded 23 songs, only 12 made it on the album). It's a bit goofy but so is this big ol' world, aint it though?!
Speaking of goofy, let's rethink our drug laws. I've had worse chemical experiences off of coffee that I ever had on the weed. I wrote this is the early 2000s and a lot has changed. Let's legalize it already. Ya feel me??
I wrote this song a couple of years ago but never posted it. The recording is a bit noisy but it has kind of a nice character to it. I think I probably recorded it on my Zoom recorder in my kitchen. You can hear the fridge and cars going by.
